A
fun song and a good melody. This song conveys similar sentiments to the
classic 'yahi bahar hai' but is not even in the same stratosphere. What
I want to know is how come Lata consented to singing lyrics like 'mujhe
kali se phool bana de...'. Didn't she always have a problem with such lyrics?
For example, the song 'o maine pyar kiya..' had similar lines, but were
changed and she also refused to sing 'ang lag jaa balmaa....'(for which
I am glad, since she couldn't have even come close to Asha's rendition).
Why did this great singer adopt such double standards? Was the 'sati savitri'
image so important to her? Why?
