Getting back to LATAnjali, I would like to post the rest of the songs from 'yasmin' that are not in the ISB. The following three songs from this film are in the ISB already: - bechain nazar betaab jigar - aankhon mein sama jao - ab voh raaten kahan I am also quite sure that the following song has
been posted at least twice:
I hope it gets to the ISB eventually. All the four songs above are masterpieces from this desert-island soundtrack which is, arguably, the best Lata/CR effort. To me, this soundtrack is one of the best ever. There are six other Lata songs in the film - four solos, one with chorus and one duet with Talat. The first of these is a solo that is as good as the other four that have already been posted. This is another of those minimal orchestrated songs. It is mostly just a bit of guitar strumming, some tabla and those gorgeous vocals. There is a sad tinge in Lata's voice, but is a very robust song. The lyrics, music or the singing does not get sappy or mushy at all. Very elegantly done. I don't believe any commercially available recording of this exists. The video is readily available and is worth buying just for the songs. Finally, I am not sure if the next # in this series is 85. If it is not, please correct it and re-post it.
