Of all the types of songs that Lata sang, my favorites were the light romantic songs of hers. She did quite a few of those for CR and for obvious reasons they stand out very prominently. Be it the gorgeous 'ankhon mein sama jao..' or the ultimate 'mujhse mat pooch ...', they made some great love songs. This one from 'jhanjhar', though not in the same class as the other two, is one such song and the absolute innocence of Lata's voice creates a magic. When she say 'pehli pehli baar piya nikli hoon gharse..' you believe it.

Also, then when she says 'tere liye thand sahi..', your heart goes out to her small sacrifice:-) She starts the song with a short alaap and then it is vintage Lata all the way. Nothing else in this songs matters more than that VOICE.
