The
last one from the commemorative that I wanted to post. This is a very early
Lata offering from the legendary Khemchand Prakash - another sweet and
wistful tune, set in shades of Puriyaa-Dhanaashri. Much like the norm in
those days, this song has a rather volatile rhythm, picking up pace at
some points,
subsiding at others, giving a kind of narrative feel to the poetry. In this one, for instance, the second antaraa ramps up the gait with 'zindagi ko koii kahataa..' as she relays the existing (and quite neutral) worldview on 'zindagi'. Then, as she contrasts it with her own sorrowful one - 'par mujhase ye puuchho...', she lapses back into a doleful pace. A masterful tune from the master composer.
