This song has been mentioned a few times on RMIM, IIRC. Worth every word written
about it and more, methinks. This song is as an answer to the question that
Rafi was to pose nearly twenty years later with kahii.n ek maasuum naazuk si
la.Dakii - this is that woman of those fantastic dreams, and Lata's is the
voice of that dream woman. This is the Lata to be treasured, so fresh and
dainty, believably ebullient. In all probability, it is these impossibly high
standards that she set which made Mr. Desai complain in later years when she was
no longer able to scale those peaks. The way she she stops abruptly after each
"zaraa" in ye dil Thahare zaraa, nazar Thahare zaraa gives one a feeling of
breathless excitement, almost as if reminding herself that such happiness should
be tempered. Goosebumps stuff.

I don't know who the lyricist is. The nice part of the lyrics is the punch line
at the end of each antara which unites the antara back to the mukha.Da - hosh me
aa le / sune phir teri sada and the best - zaraa phir ho le fidaa ham - as if
abandoning herself finally to that overpowering feeling.
