jhuume jhuume dil meraa
(Poonam, 1952)

The third and the last one from Poonam - at least for the time being. This
song as well is a little over-sped, just like "o bhole balamaa". I don't
know if that was a fashion/common trick in those times. "apalam chapalam..."
was similarly over-sped even by C Ramchandra, so one cannot really blame SJ
for doing that.

But I am ready to rely on CR's judgement regarding whether the Azaad song
was better over-sped. Few years ago, when Lata sang it in some "night" (may
be Mangeshkar night) organized by Shiv Sena in Mumbai, she sounded utterly
pathetic. She could not sing it even at half the speed of the original song
making it sound a desperate, sad song. (How come she sang a CR song in a
public performance, anyway???)

However, the result of speeding up this one are less harmful than the other
mentioned from Poonam. This is a dancing tune (as Hasrat makes it obvious by
making every entity referred to here - dance) and it doesn't much matter if
it makes you dance a little faster. :-)
