Here
is the other Lata solo from 'hyderabad ki nazneen' that I mentioned in
my last post. This one too is sung with an amazing grace and between the
two songs, I can't decide which one I like better. I am not sure why this
song is not amongst Lata's popular numbers. Vasant Desai keeps the orchestration
simple here and let's the voice dominate, as opposed to the previous song.
A very strong base of tabla is the only thing he has in the vocal parts
of the song. In the music interludes he also includes the sitar and an
ocassional flute piece very nicely. Lata goes high at the end of each antara
and returns back at the start of the mukhada. She also stretches the last
word of the first and third lines of the antaras, creating a beautiful
effect.
